DatalytIQs Academy respects the privacy of learners, instructors, clients, visitors and other users of our website and digital services. This Privacy Policy explains the personal data we may collect, why and how we process it, how long it may be retained, when it may be shared or transferred, and the rights available to you under applicable Kenyan data-protection law.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use DatalytIQs Academy, we may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, account and profile information, course registration information, enquiries, assessment or learning activity, and information submitted when purchasing a course, training programme or other service.
Our website and service providers may also process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, login and security records, cookies, transaction identifiers and website usage data.
2. Purposes and lawful processing
We process personal data only for explicit and legitimate purposes and on an applicable lawful basis, including where processing is necessary to provide a requested service or perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate interest that does not override your rights, or where valid consent has been obtained. We may use personal data to create and administer accounts; enrol learners and provide course access; deliver training, consultancy and related services; administer purchases; communicate service and transactional information; respond to enquiries; maintain security and prevent misuse; improve our services; maintain appropriate business and financial records; and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Learning accounts and course activity
Registered users may have information associated with their learner or instructor profile, including enrolments, course progress, assessments, certificates and other learning records where these features are enabled. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.
4. Payments and transactions
Purchases made through the website may be processed using WooCommerce and integrated payment-service providers. Payment providers may process payment and transaction information under their own terms and privacy practices. DatalytIQs Academy does not intentionally request that users send sensitive payment credentials by ordinary email or contact forms.
5. Cookies, analytics and direct marketing
The website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for authentication, account sessions, shopping-cart and checkout functionality, security, preferences, analytics and other enabled website features. Where consent is legally required for a non-essential cookie or similar technology, we will seek appropriate consent. Marketing communications will be sent only where permitted by law, and recipients may object to or opt out of direct marketing communications.
6. Third-party services and embedded content
Our services may rely on third-party technology providers for hosting, learning management, ecommerce, payments, email delivery, analytics, security, video or embedded content. Information may be processed by such providers only to the extent necessary to provide the relevant service or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. Third-party services operate under their own privacy terms.

No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Where a personal-data breach triggers notification duties under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to assess, contain and report the incident.

Parents, guardians or institutions enrolling minors should ensure that they have appropriate authority to provide the relevant information.
