Verified qualification boundaries
Kenyan secondary examination routes are in transition. The following routes are therefore maintained separately; their syllabi and assessments must not be combined.
KCSE — current 8-4-4 examination
The official 2026 KNEC timetable confirms Business Studies 565, Computer Studies 451, Mathematics Alternative A 121 and Mathematics Alternative B 122. This establishes current examinability and paper structure, but not the complete curriculum.
Senior School CBE
Grade 10 curriculum designs are issued by KICD. Courses for this route will be mapped directly to the applicable official KICD design and will not inherit legacy KCSE sequences without documented cross-mapping.
Pearson Edexcel IAS/IAL
The supplied January 2024 KNEC subject list records Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level units administered through KNEC. It is historical, sitting-specific evidence—not a KCSE syllabus and not proof of current availability.

Source rule: A KNEC timetable or registration circular confirms that a paper is examined. It does not define the complete teachable syllabus. Jitimu files may assist discovery, but they cannot clear a course for publication unless their content is matched to an official KICD source and current KNEC assessment requirements.
